This is and forever will be, the old home of the former Supreme Alpha, Amaroq. He was the ruler of all of RiverRush, and now, some say his spirit lives on through all the wolves that surround this place. They can't communicate with him or for him, but it brings a sense of peace about the wolves of the Avaliks, when they congregate here. A large, two leveled rock cave, built into the side of a rock cliff and surrounded by a hilly landscape. Its a perfect spot to look out and view your surroundings, and also to protect yourself from invading enemies.
Boiling water, too hot for any animal to step foot in, with few gases, is located off the eastern tip of the Avalik territory. They create a misty fog, perfect for a cold night, where the warmth of the springs set the warm moisture into the air. Surrounding the springs are three hilly slopes on either side; easy to get down, but not so easy to haul yourself back up once you want to get out of it. The entire landscape is a dip in the mountains, and so anyone frozen from the mountains can come down here to relax and warm up.
Where the land meets the water, where marshland meets forestwood, a small lakes sits with running water off the streams that flow into it. Cactails, reeds, and other things surround the edges, and create a homey, comfortable look for the wolves. There are resting places surrounding the lake, so that the wolves don't have to go back and forth from the den a few miles away and the lake, just to get a good sleep for the night. Also, in the deep heat of summer, a cool lake surrounded by little sub-rivers are good to cool off in.
Open, frosted plains are the only places where snow resides year-round in the Avalik lands. Therefore, the large herds of hooved animals like caribou, elk, and bison love to romp about with the lush grasses that poke through the icy surface here and there. Wary wolves must watch for any sign of the moving glacier that this stands upon, for one large slip, and you could go right off the edge and fall nearly 100 feet below; to the foresty treetops.
